Missa brevis

Missa brevis was originally commissioned for one or two outings, however, it continues to appear at more and more sacred music festivals. The soprano and baritone solo voices are usually sung by professional singers, but since the choral and instrumental parts have a simpler texture, they can be taken on by semi-professionals or amateurs. It may be a "short" Mass, but its spiritual and emotional power is long-lived. The organ part can be replaced by electronic instrument.
