It's Only a Paper Moon

"Its Only a Paper Moon" was written in 1933 for the Broadway musical "The Great Magoo". The musical was never a success, but this song is today one of the greatest jazz standard of all times.

Paul Whiteman did the first successful recordingwith vocalist Peggy Healey the same year. After that it has been performed and recorded by legends as Ella Fitzgerald, oscar Peterson, Count Basie, Tony Bennett and Nat King Cole to name just a few.
